The Davis-Bacon Act states: "The US Department of Labor determines wage rates to be paid on federally funded or assisted construction projects". The wage schedule listed on the Government website in many areas of the country is 2-3 times higher than what is normally paid to contractors.
One of our customers told me "it would be like requiring that we pay our equipment suppliers list price". Now we're talking;) Ha. Thoughts of $100 hammers come to mind.

I'm afraid some of those telcos receiving stimulus funds wish they could order theirs without "Bacon".- Jim Pilgrim

How about a little bacon on the golf course too? The prices for construction have just been increased for next summer in a big way. This will effect all of the next summer rates as no one will work for less money if they can get more and why should they.
